I really think this is only a problem with your font/XFree setup.

I don't see the issue you mentioned in an earlier post so I don't see
why the menu text sould be made shorter. (btw, the Dutch texts are among
the shortest in the file)

I think you should try using the DisplaySize setting in the "Monitor"
section of your XF86Config instead of changing the menu. That will
adjust your menu fontsize depending on a screensize in milimeters(?)
