I don't see in Annex A anything about character set selection, only reference to
these control characters that I still don't see how they can be used in Myth
without some pretty major changes since I am populating them into a QString and
going into the database in a varchar field.. What do these emphasis characters
do? It just looks to put some sort of emphasis (bold maybe?) in parts of the
channel/service name.. Is there some other purpose that I am not getting?

That point aside character set selection isn't done much of anywhere, and will
need to be done.. Its going to be up to the people in Europe that dont use the
default character set to help me weed these out since I only have access to
English language tables, so its hard for me to find these.. Julian Scheel did
write some code to handle this which most likely can be re-used for fixing this
SDT code (and anywhere else this may exist, EIT as well?)..

Kenneth have you looked at any of these patches yet?  I was hoping to see some
feedback from you about your thoughts..
