Yes, Init() is called after the Appearance settings are changed.  If 
the check is not in Init(), the "Run frontend in window" preference 
does not take effect, which is the whole point of my original patch.  I 
neglected to notice that you moved that, defeating the patch's original 
purpose.  :-(
