They should be installed within the package, but it seems like they
aren't.. There's a mac OSX mysql package that's probably required...
http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/mysql/
Might do the trick.

or check ~/.mythtv/mysql.txt and make sure that it's set right for your
database server
