No, I intentionally did not do this because it results in an insecure
configuration by default.  Users who wish to have it setuid in spite of this
can use dpkg-statoverride to do so:

dpkg-statoverride --update --add root mythtv 4754 /usr/bin/mythfrontend

should do the trick.
