[mythtv] mythplugins and x86-64

So I just upgraded to tonight's CVS and mythtv built fine.  I've been
using the --enable-proc-opts option without problems.

The problem comes when I go to build mythplugins.  Since I'm using
x86-64, I have to edit the settings.pro file before running configure.
Since the recent reorg of the tree by Isaac I am *extremely* grateful
that I only have to edit one file instead of the many.  So moving
forwards, am I correct in assuming that at some point the processor
options flags will be added to the configure script for mythplugins?  If
that's the plan, it looks like some serious duplication of effort from
the mythtv configure script.  So before I started to tinker on adapting
the script, I was wondering what the general direction was...
