I may be able to help with transform.c, I'm grabbing your patch now...
I'm fairly convinced the blockiness is caused at the pes filtering stage,
and not the frontend. I've got an Athlon XP 3200+ and it plays Nine HD
perfectly under Windows (at absolute max 60% CPU).
Could be wrong though ;-)
What DVB card are you using? I have a Technotrend/Hauppauge Nova-T.
