I'm working on what I hope will be a very robust version of this,
written in Perl. It will:

- deal with multiple IR devices in one script

- reproduce what irsend does, to avoid the overhead of a system call,
and also the problem it has with sending to multiple devices at the
exact same moment

- optionally zero-pad channels like "99" to "099"

I hope to finish an alpha version of it sometime this weekend.
