[mythtv] Slightly OT: MythTV as Senior Project?

These are the same results I had back when I compiled .15 in cygwin.
After about a week of hacking around the directx code - I realized
that you can't properly reference an X window for directx. It
references the entire x server instead - which ended up being an awful
lot of trouble.

This is the exact reason I switched to compiling with mingw - which I
actually have a word document I put together containing directions to
get you pretty far with it, but once I achieved a full compile with
lots of hacks, the ld problem with QT/mingw cropped up. Since then I
have just been waiting this out instead of hacking around bin-utils or
QT code.
