[mythtv] RE: [PATCH] Fix PVR350 closing EPG goes to black screen - 2nd attempt

Attached is a patch that fixes this problem and also I believe fixes the
occasional hang that has been reported with FF/REW.
Several nasty interactions between the EPG & OSD are fixed as well except
for one last one that has been reported but I don't believe is new.

If whilst displaying the EPG you choose to start recording the screen
flashes a bit and then ends up with a transparent image over it. 
I believe this is caused by closing and re-opening the osd output layer when
this happens and because of this the current mode is lost.
I don't think there is a quick fix for this and I don't have time to look at
that for a couple of weeks so I'm submitting this patch in its current form
since it fixes all the problems that were reported originally.
