Go to sf.net and lookup the project 'jMythTv' and check out it CVS
repo.  It was the start of a java interface to the myth socket stuff,
but it hasn't gone anywhere since proto version 14/15 (I think).

It worked really well, but I found I had little time to add anything
and the other guy that did the most of the work has gone quiet too. 
It is also very hard to keep up with protocol changes since I use
RPM's and the protocol went through a phase of quick updates.

I hope the other guy doesn't mind me sharing his work :\
