Heh.  I was just about to correct you, but after doing some digging it 
turns out you're right... though, to clarify, the names themselves are 
stored in Unicode (preserving case), it's just the filename comparisons 
that are done in a case-insensitive manner.  Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) 
includes an option at format-time to make the volume HFSX (versus 
HFS+), which does case-sensitive filename comparisons.
