is anyone interested in bug reports of this kind? It even quits/crashes
the frontend when changing channels here. But if it's still work in
progress then I'll wait (and won't change channels, well at least not
until Xmass when I'd like to 'deploy' the machine to wide family use :-)

but right now it is spamming the log file with 20 MB/minute of identical
records. At least that could have been disabled as a result of #725 :-)
