I had forgotten that Aaron McCarthy's patch was applied a couple months back that rewrote
major parts of the MPEG2trans class, so I take back my "stable" question. :)  I think
the problems I'm remembering were before Aaron's patch went in.  Now that his code
will generate DVD compatible files, I might actually use mpeg2->mpeg2 some.

I think we might want it to be an option though, some people will prefer the space
savings of going to MPEG-4 by default rather than going to MPEG-2 or better quality for
the same bitrate with 4 vs 2.
