Did you test SVN head? I this morning I checked in some code for
VIA XVideo which may fix this problem for you. I'm assuming you are
using an ATI video card and are using XVideo output. Without a 
"mythfrontend -v playback" log, I'm just guessing based on similar
reports we've gotten with ATI cards in the last couple years.

Please test SVN head without any filters or deinterlacing, only a
few filters have been fixed to use the offsets passed back from Xv.
