Oops.  Just found it in a message sent directly to me (perhaps your mail 
client ignored the Reply-To header):

AutoExpire: Found 3 recorders w/max rate of 416 MiB/min

which, as you thought, says it should delete at the min rate (about 
8MiB/sec).
