Have my doubts about this patch. For a start it would need rewriting in the 
near future as markup (cutlists etc) are being moved. However it also seems 
overblown for the functionality I think it aims to add.

It would be better done through communication with the backend instead of 
operating directly on the database. This can only lead to more work for 
developers every time changes are made to DB schema.

I'm going to take a closer look and see what needs to be done.
