Tested on two systems both connecting to the same backend. Frontend
freezes up for a while, when I get it back sometimes it shows an empty
recordings list, sometimes I get an error about it losing contact with
the backend, some frontend log outputs:

2006-02-28 17:57:16.375 Connecting to backend server:
192.168.1.151:6543 (try 1 of 5)
2006-02-28 17:57:16.375 write -> 13 21      MYTH_PROTO_VERSION 26
2006-02-28 17:57:36.379 ReadStringList timeout (quick).
2006-02-28 17:57:36.379 Unexpected response to MYTH_PROTO_VERSION:

and

2006-02-28 17:49:56.110 Switching to wide mode (ProjectGrayhem-wide)
2006-02-28 17:49:57.489 Registering Internal as a media playback plugin.
2006-02-28 17:50:18.095 Connecting to backend server:

2006-02-28 17:50:38.102 ReadStringList timeout (quick).
2006-02-28 17:50:38.102 Unexpected response to MYTH_PROTO_VERSION:
2006-02-28 17:52:56.600 Connecting to backend server:
192.168.1.151:6543 (try 1 of 5)
2006-02-28 17:52:56.615 Using protocol version 26
2006-02-28 17:57:57.118 ReadStringList timeout.
2006-02-28 17:57:57.118 Connection to backend server lost
2006-02-28 17:57:57.118 WriteStringList: Bad socket
2006-02-28 17:57:57.118 ReadStringList: Bad socket
2006-02-28 17:57:57.118 Reconnection to backend server failed

I've tried a clean build of fixes-9208 and also went back to my
fixes-9163 (which was my backup build), it seems to be the backend
since both frontends show the same output

oh and if I try to go to livetv after this I get:
2006-02-28 18:00:28.385 Connecting to backend server:
192.168.1.151:6543 (try 1 of 5)
2006-02-28 18:00:28.386 write -> 13 21      MYTH_PROTO_VERSION 26
2006-02-28 18:00:48.393 ReadStringList timeout (quick).
2006-02-28 18:00:48.394 Unexpected response to MYTH_PROTO_VERSION:
2006-02-28 18:00:48.394 TV: Attempting to change from None to None

but if I try from a fresh load of mythfrontend it works... sometimes,
now it looks like it won't...

ughhh
