My Playback settings are:

Deinterlace Playback ENABLED, set to "Bob (2x framerate)"
Preferred MPEG2 Decoder: Standard XvMC
OpenGL Vertical Sync for timing DISABLED (this caused problems for me when
enabled with a previous SVN release.  I have not tried it with this release)
Realtime Priority threads ENABLED
Use video as timebase ENABLED
Extra audio buffering ENABLED
