I share ext3 filesystems between Windows and Linux on multiple systems and
haven't had any trouble with it.  (One of them is the dumping ground for video
from my MythTV box that needs to go on DVD, so various Windows-based video
editing/compression tools thrash it pretty thoroughly.)
