Hi All,

We have developped some components for MythTV that we needed to enable
IP streaming and H264 video. We have submitted them as enhancement
tickets to the MythTV project. If someone is interrested to try these
new features you can take a look at ticket #1787 and #1788. Here is a
short description of the two patches. More detailed documentation can be
found in the Doxygen documentation of the new files and in the readme
included with each patches.

Ticket #1787 - IP Network Recorder
This patch contains a IP Network MPEG-TS recorder. This new type of
"Capture Card" will record MPEG-2 Transport Stream feeds over UDP/IP. It
is possible to use this input with MPEG1/2/4 video. It can also support
H264 video with the h264_tools patch.

Ticket #1788 - H264 tools
This patch contains a set of tools needed to enable H264 support in
MythTV. It contains a minimalist state machine class used to detect
H.264 keyframes. A usage example is included in the IP Network Recorder
patch.

After installing these two patches, it is possible to record streamed
MPEG2-TS over UDP/IP encoded in MPEG1/2/4 or H.264. We have used VLC
0.8.5 (www.videolan.org) to test these functionnalities.

Comments are welcome,
