FWIW I've revised this patch to also halt mythfilldatabase during 
playback/recording.  Can't really do anything about the individual 
queries/updates (a single one can have mysql do some serious trashing); but 
putting a check before each one will at least keep them from running until 
playback/recording stops.  I'm also defaulting the hold/nohold switch based 
on the machine's bogomips.

It's still against 0.19; I hope to update to 0.20 soon.
