Could a few people email me the output of this command - especially if you have more than one optical drive. You should not need to run it as root. Also, would be good to get output from people with non-linux systems. I'm wondering whether I can use this as a reliable method of detecting speeds/capabilities for cd writers. -- Matthew Wire
