It sounds like this affects ATSC tuners, so I'm thinking I should
apply it to my now-SVN backend.

Daniel, can I assume that this patch 7 is all inclusive of the changes
and debug routines you've been working on? I figure I've got a couple
ATSC tuners so my data may help in your work here.
