Not sure where to start... but I'll try to answer your questions and
then give my opinion on a thing or two.
4:3 version - well, as I've said I spent 2 months, almost every spare
moment I had creating the theme and it will be at least another before
it's complete. So, until then there will be nothing in that direction
for sure. After that, who knows, but given I don't even have a 4:3
display at home it gives me little incentive to create one. On a
technical side of things, now that I have a better idea of what can be
done with a mythtv theme, I think it would be hard to lay out things in
a 4:3 format using this layout. I think your best shot would be to try
to create it yourself. All the materials I had available are in the
tarball, including some photoshop files. Others can be obtained from the
links in the ABOUT/CREDIT sections of my website.
That said, I sent the message to let you all know of new theme, hoping
you'll test it, provide some feedback, find bugs, make suggestions if
there is a bettter way of doing things with what I have so far. Not to
start a contest which theme is better. It would be polite to focus on
issues related to this theme rather then others. The themes is what it
is, it's not even finished, and some already want to redesign it
completley. To top it of, most did not seem to even bother to install it.
Let me make this clear, the basic concept is what you see on the
screenshots and is NOT going to change. Hope you like it, but if you
don't that's ok too. One can always take my work and do with it what
ever they wish. I have used different themes in a past, some I liked
more then others, but I don't criticize the work and now that I've had a
chance to find out myself how much work goes into it, I'm even less
inclined to do so.
Let's stop right here and focus on what's important. Now you have
another theme. If you like it, use it. If you find bugs, report it. If
you have suggestions on how to make it better, I'm listenning.
If you don't like the concept of this theme completely, just use another
and ignore this one.
For anything else in between, feel free to do the work yourself. Believe
me, it's very rewarding.
Jesse
