I can confirm that unloading and reloading the ivtv driver stops the
vbi-enc process from coming alive.

BTW - is it reasonable to look for VBI data from the s-video or composite
input of a pvr150/500 card? Perhaps just turn VBI on when a channel on a
tuner input is selected?
