I got revision 14063 from SVN and applied the patch (even though it
looked like the changes were already in this revision).

Its looking good.  I have left it on a channel off Mux A that used to
crash easily (usually within minutes) for two separate three hour
sessions and the backend did not crash once.

Many, many thanks - I am really looking forward to the next release now.

Has this fix got a chance of being included in the current 0.20 fixes release?
