[mythtv] mythbackend crashing on making thumbnails

I have an older version of mythtv downloaded from atrpms on FC4 which has a
crash problem using recordings (always on same HD channel).  I've tried
tonight to install Centos 5 and downloaded the latest RPMS and the same
problem is occuring.  I remember opening a ticket about this a long time ago
and it seems like the crash is still present.  The problem is that the
making of thumbnails actually crash the backend and sometimes I won't notice
for a day or 2.

The only workaround I've got so far is to copy an other .png file on disk
and restart the backend.  I'd just like some good pointers or help trying to
find the problem.  I have the MPEG-2 file available (which I can cut it down
to 30 MB).
