i was having problems with mythbackend crashing (two dvb-s cards pointed 
at Astra28.2E)
so i deleted the channels that i had and did a "full scan" of S 10773000 
H 22000000 5/6

it found about 6 or 7 channels from the BBC and stopped
then i did a "scan of existing transports" and it took about a hour but 
found everything (i think)

is this the expected behavour?

even after that mythbackend kept crashing
i removed with mythtv-setup the second dvb-s card and mythbackend stayed 
up all night.

both cards are fed from the same LNB, so i don't think signal 
quality/strength is an issue.

i am seeing a continuous stream of the following in my log (800k lines 
worth of it in the last 10 hours):
