Not true. Some Linux-based HD STBs with HDCP are already in the field.
Linux allows the use of closed source applications.
Each HDCP implementation must be licensed and the licensee must
guarantee to keep HDCP keys secret. It is this that precludes a
freely-available, generic, open source HDCP implementation.
