There are explanations on the mythtv wiki about how to scan in this 
situation. The tools aleady exist so you do not need to write your own 
scanner. See 'Adding Digital Channels...' in the Howto section.
No-one, so far, has added a linup to the 'Working QAM cable layout' 
page. You can be the first.
