[mythtv] MythMusic & Gallery patch

I found the ticket (1796) for one of the mythgallery in mythmusic 
implementations and found the following entry

Resolution: set to wontfix 

Don't like the approach - would rather music just work outside of its own 
screens rather than hacking in a slideshow. Should be addressed by the SoC 
student working on mythmusic.

Does anyone know if anything happened on this front or can clarify what the 
statement "music just work outside of its own screens" implies ?
