[mythtv] Gnome-Screensaver not disabling

Howdy!

I was wondering if anyone else was having issues with gnome-screensaver disabling?

I was using MythTV 0.20.2 and Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty) and everything was fine (with the exception of MythGame which never disabled the SS - joystick events don't seem to prod SS).

Last Friday (11/2), I upgraded to Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) which required a re-compile of Myth. So I did a checkout from the SVN head (should have just re-compiled 0.20.2 source).

Anyway, now when I do anything in Myth, the screensaver kicks in after 10 minutes or so (watching TV, DVDs, recordings, gallery, etc). The remote (using LIRC) does send the commands to Myth, even when the screensaver is up, but the screensaver is not deactivated unless I press a key on the keyboard. I know there was quite a bit of changes have been made in screensaver-x11.cpp since 0.20.2. But the basic gnome-screensaver-command --poke is still intact.

Yes, I know I could disable the screensaver completely, but since this seems like a regression from previous releases, I was wondering if anyone else is having similar issues.

Having to hit a keyboard key every 10 minutes during a 2 hour movie is getting annoying.

Thanks for your time.
