[mythtv] mini itx ex15000g mythplayer problem

I have myth loaded on several mini itx boxes (great, low power consumption,
quiet etc).  I just got a EX15000G board and I have some issues....

If I use Xine or Mplayer I have no issues - if I use the myth internal
player my video is faster than my audio, watching TV, videos, recordings.
Interestingly if I use the Hauppauge 350 card with its tvout I get the same
issue.

What should I start to look at to resolve?
