The reason I closed the ticket with 'works for me' is that believe it
or not - it works just fine here.

With the qt theme set to 'default' the text is light grey on a light
blue background and is perfectly readable.  There is more than enough
contrast and if it's still not readable on your TV I strongly suggest
that you need to calibrate your TV's brightness/contrast settings.

I suspect the problem could be caused by using a qt theme which alters
colours of some parts of qt widgets which results in the problem
reported.  Solution - use the 'default' qt theme.

If I could reproduce the problem I'd have fixed it already.  As it is
I see no reason to keep the ticket open.
