I initially thought that as well from their website.  Buthaving talked 
to them, I no longer think it is hostility, but instead just complete 
lack of time/ability for support.  They gave me permission to distribute 
the firmware, and said they'd release an updated one that fixes the 
1024byte packet in their next update.  So I don't think they are 
anti-linux, just frustrated with all the emails asking about myth 
support that they couldn't do anything about.  Regardless, you should 
expect NO support from them regarding MythTV.  I would absolutely expect 
that you have a Windows box available if you go this route since if you 
have problems, you'll need it to get any support from the company (and 
as I already mentioned, emulation is not currently an option)
