[mythtv] Current state of Lanczos scaling?

Hello all,

Could anyone shed some light on the current state of Lanczos software
scaling in MythTV?  I found this ticket (
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/2287 ) which seems to indicate
Lanczos scaling was a goal of the recently merged mythtv-vid branch
but I haven't been able to find much further info.  I would love to
use Lanczos to scale my DVD content to the 1080P necessary for my
display as it does a much better job than any other scaler I've tried.
