Only my humble opinion:- the above misses an important point. Quoting the OP,
"So the iso's ripped with mythtv are still encrypted but aren't supposed to
be, ...".  Wrong. In many places, and in many ways, the legality of removing
the encryption when importing would be questionable. Not a bug, not a fault,
just a true implementation of one of the fundamental philosophies of the
mythtv-dev community, whereby MythTV will not have anything to do with actions
of questionable legality. I believe that's what was meant by the request to
"not abuse the ticket system".
