I would be agree with you if the binding was easy to do, currently it is
not as we need to exit the current screen to go to mythcontrol, do the
binding and then coming back to the previous screen (repeat this until
you are satisfied). Beside we could have both at the same time i.e. have
a key to mark a show as watch and still use key "I" then key "4" to mark
a show as watched, the keypad would work only when the menu is shown....
Using number have a great advantage to be easy to remember (as long as
they are shown in the menu). My cable box use this, I found it very
handy (most likely the only thing btw).
Anyway, the binding is barely usable with multiple remotes. Using a
keypad for list-like menu minimize this need even for jump.
