I haven't had a functioning mythbox in a while. I'm setting one up now, 
(but for some reason
am running into various install problems).

It's pretty hard for mythtv to provide a comm detector that works very 
well for everybody.  It's
very much a black magic, and by no means scientific.  So I'd give you 
very good odds that given some
time, you can tweak the settings for the classic comm detector to give 
much better results for the channel's
you are interested in.   (far from all settings are exposed in the gui).

Several years back it was working for me quite well though.  it only 
sometimes thought the break
was a bit shorter than it really was, so I'd had to ff trough the 
station's "post ads ad" of what would be shown next.

Anyway, I guess this is getting somewhat ot.
