Not so sure ... it's not just VB_MEDIA & VB_EXTRA, but
   (_print_verbose_messages_ & VB_MEDIA & VB_EXTRA)
so if both media and extra verbosities were both nominated, the result will be true.
Only if either (or both) of them were not nominated will the result be false.
