Agreed - no controversy. If someone develops a patch,
I will try to test it for backwards compatibility
with the current udev* commands, then commit it.


It is just that _I_ don't have time to update
my current suite of Linux test machines:

(Debian 4.0, KnoppMyth R5, KnoppMyth R5.5,
  Ubuntu 7.04 PPC, Ubuntu 8.01.1, LinHES R6.00.0*)

just to get a libudev install, for developing such code.
