[mythtv] Unplayable CBS recordings

A few weeks ago, there were some messages on the -users list about not
being able to play recordings from CBS with MythTV except when using
XvMC. As far as I can tell, the problem was never resolved.
It seems I'm now being hit by the same, or very similar, problem. I
can't play anything recorded via clear QAM in the last few days off of
CBS using MythTV 0.21+fixes. None my current video cards support
XvMC, so I can't try that. My card do support VDPAU, however, and
sure enough, MythTV trunk can play the troublesome recordings, but
only if I use VDPAU. FWIW, Every other media player I've tried seems
to handle these recording just fine.
Could one of the resident MythTV ffmpeg experts take a look to see
they can determine the problem. I've placed a short sample at
http://istwok.net/ktvt.mpg . I'm also attaching the output I get when
I try to play the sample with "mythtv -v playback ktvt.mpg".
