Hi John,

I run a single HD-PVR with firewire channel-changing and a six-second
delay at the end of the channel change script.

I ran with this patch in 0.22, and tried running without it when I first
upgraded to 0.23-fixes. Without the patch I had difficulty getting
livetv to work, but I also experienced problems with occasional backend
recording failures. I applied patch 1.6 and have not had problems with
backend recording failures since. (I only really use livetv to verify
that the HD-PVR is working.)

I don't have any other encoders, and although I stay current with
0.23-fixes, I haven't applied the patch update you uploaded 5 days ago.
