And I confirm that disabling ffmpeg does, indeed, allow the build to finish. I didn't actually have an opportunity to test anything.
BTW, I did notice that MacPorts has two versions of ffmpeg that are reported to build OK. I don't see them doing any special patching or other apparent magic. (Keep in mind, however, that I'm not a developer and could well be overlooking something glaring.)
