[mythtv] Adding plugin to frontend

Hello you guys,

I've had a lot of problems while trying to compile the myththello plugin and
i solved it by writiing the ful path to each of the libraries mythhello
needed.
Now i have a new problem, I can't seem to be able to add the plugin that
I've compiled to the frontend.

I've tried to add the following:

<button>
   <type>HELLO_MYTH</type>
   <text>Hello Myth</text>
   <action>PLUGIN mythhello</action>
</button>

To the "/usr/share/mythtv/themes/defaultmenu/mainmenu.xml"  but whenever i
launch the frontend i don't see any button there.

Am I altering the right files, Is the tutorial outdated on Building Plugins
