Well, someone could put it in ~/Library/Frameworks.

On the other hand consolidating the multiple copies of dependancies in one place would be good.

Anyway, it doesn't sound like a framework is a hands-down win. How about adding an option to the build script for an external dependancies directory? That way different builds could share the same external libraries. Basically the same idea as your soft link trick.

I can open a ticket when the build script calms down or if it's just a couple of lines you could scoop me.
