There was some discussion around late November/early December about a
feature freeze with a view to getting 0.25 out. There wasn't agreement
at the time, though I imagine it will come up again in the near
future. January tends to be a time when people pick things up having
had a quiet Christmas period (and this year appears to be no
exception).

Speaking for myself, I want to commit a few dvd patches and finish off
the 3d/stereoscopic support that is currently limited to OpenGL and
then I'll personally be happy with my own 'contribution'. (and I need
to add some frontend services API functionality before Robert shoots
me!)

Other things that would be nice to get done are the outstanding DXVA2
bug (windows equivalent of VDPAU), the same for VDA (OS X) and smooth
out the rough edges for UPnP scanning (plug and play support for other
UPnP media servers on the network).

It hasn't been discussed but I'm guessing the main blocker for release
at the moment is cleaning up the new HTTP Live Streaming functionality
and getting that implemented in at least 1 or 2 'apps' to showcase it
properly (it's a great feature and it would be a shame for 0.25 to go
out with it half baked). There has also been some recent momentum with
mythmusic and mythgallery re-writes (libmythui and storage group
conversions). It would be fantastic to have tv, videos, music and
images all fully integrated for 0.25 but it will more than likely be
for 0.26.

So for 0.26 I'd like to think we're broadly looking at the full
integration noted above, fingers crossed the completion of the backend
setup (and the end of mythtv-setup for the backend at least) and
taking the next step with libmythui visuals (i.e. all the fancy UI
polish that everyone seems to value higher than real functionality!).

regards

Mark
