Thank you Karl; I'll give tv_grab_combiner a go (even if as you say it
is a pain to set up).

But I guess that this is reason #3: I've been doing it this way for a
long time. I don't remember spotting the existence of tv_grab_combiner
when I first went down the scripted road so "if it ain't broke don't fix
it" applies here, for whatever definition of "broke" seems appropriate.

As to your caching point: I regardless want to be kind to the sites I'm
grabbing from. TTBOMK all of my grabbers observe the terms of use of the
sites they are grabbing from. I also don't care very much about the time
it takes; it's in the middle of the night anyway. But regardless: in my
script I can (and therefore do) run the grabbers in parallel; I wonder
whether tv_grab_combiner does this (I'll find out when I spend the time
to test it).
