I know back in december Chris Pinkham was suggesting downloading the
themes to generate the themestrings file so as far as the translators
were concerned they wouldn't see any difference.

[I didn't know at the time you weren't following the #mythtv-theming
channel (I had BTW on purpose mentionned your name so you would see the
discussion) but you mentionned the next day you would look at what was
mentionned.]

If he leaves these entries alone than the user experience will not be as
good since everything in the themes will not be translated.

The work he does now won't be lost anyway since the Qt ts files could be
transformed into Qt phrase book (.qph I believe) to reuse these translation.

There was a mention about having more or less per-theme translation
files but I don't think we'll see this for 0.25 and the translation for
these per-theme translation files translation could be extracted from
the other translation files (either programatically or by making phrase
books).

(Looking up in more than one translation file is easy. I'm not sure Qt
provides functions to write ts files directly but since these are XML
files anyway a compatible ts files shouldn't be that difficult to produce.)

Have a nice day,

Nick
